Lesson three of a course on holding the model while an AI does the work. The narrow pipe is Eliyahu Goldratt’s (The Goal, 1984): in any chain of stages, throughput is set by the one with the least capacity, and improving any other stage only lengthens the queue in front of the constraint. Once you widen it, some other stage is the narrowest.
